And it is the BBC that has remembered developments during the war, but that there was no lack of connection of events between Kosovo and Serbia even after the Serbian occupation ended.
The three wartime reporters have shown how Kosovars experienced multiple violence and mistreatment.
Jeremy Bowen is one of the reporters of the time who said he witnessed a lot of atrocities, which changed his life.
Serbs ruled Kosovo at the time, and Kosovo Albanians also, so 90% of the population with an iron rod. They could not lead the government, their children left school, it was a real, really oppressive regime. There was much evidence and evidence of massacres. When Serbs, under the weight of NATO pressure, decided to withdraw, then it was possible to go and see dead bodies, rotting on the side of the streets. People filled with terrible stories of children of things that had happened. And there was a real tragedy of grief that continues”, said Bowen.
He also spoke of two Kosovo stars now playing for foreign football teams.

Two football players -- Shaqiri and Jaka -- grew up in Switzerland. Yet, they had an answer. They thus show that they were brought in and raised by a patrotic family. But even for a new generation, these things really matter. Kosovo is very, very important for Serbs, Serbian nationalists, because in 1389 Serbs suffered a catastrophic loss in the hands of Ottoman Turks. And this, over the years, was commemorated by them and became part of national folklore. So they have to find a way to live with actual reality. And I think there are signs in the leadership of both countries that there is a beginning of recognition. But the idea of political sales after a war in which many people were killed is not easy. People in the Balkans worry that when borders start to be exchanged, it will never be easy, and it will probably use bloodshed”, he added further.
The other reporter, Dejan Anastasijevic, recalls how a nine-year-old girl from Prekazi had an open eye, was almost frozen by the cold and violence used.
I remember a nine-year-old Albanian child in the village of Prekaz. His eyes were fixed toward the frozen sky. It was very cold and he was shot with a bullet in his forehead”, he added further.
The same also mentioned Shaqiri and Jaka, commemorating the most beloved moments for Albanians in turn, the establishment of the eagle.
“Two Albanians playing for the Swiss team began showing this sign to Serbian players, which is a double-headed Albanian eagle, their national symbol. Serbia was very, very angry. They filed a complaint with Fifa, the international football governing body. The players were fined. The distance between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo is increasing over time, instead of approaching as expected so many years after the war. In the northern part of the town of Mitrovica, where Serbs live, I have seen Serbian teenagers, who have never seen a living Albanian, even though Albanians are standing by the” bridge, Dejan Anastasijevic said, broadcast Indesksonline.
And from the German news agency in Kosovo, which reported during 1999-2002, Albana Kasap also commemorated the moment of Albania by Jaka and Shaqiri.
This was more than just victory. They wanted people at home to feel proud that at least some Albanians or anyone, they have scored a victory over Serbia. Tensions returned last summer, when Serbia's president came to the fore, talking about the idea of restoring borders between Serbia and Kosovo. Albanians and Serbs will not reconcile”, Albana Kasap said.
In this BBC report, it was stressed that the time cannot be turned back, Kosovo will not return to Serbia, Serbia will not return Kosovo.
