Facebook has issued an important announcement that we are translating to our readers.
Today we've wiped out 2632 pages, groups and accounts that were involved in non-authentic behavior co-ordinated on Facebook and Instagram. The operations we found were related to Iran, Russia, Macedonia and Kosovo. We have not found any connection between this series of activities, but they have used similar tactics by creating accounting networks to deceive others about who they were or what they were doing.
We are constantly working to detect and prohibit this kind of activity because we don't want our services used to manipulate people. We're erasing these pages and accounts based on their behavior, not on their own content. In each case, people behind this activity coordinated themselves and used false accounts to expose themselves, which was our basis for action, reports Periscope.
As we make progress in rooting out this abuse, as we have already said, it is a constant challenge because responsible people are determined and have money. /Periscopi
