Through a media response, the US Embassy says the failure to appoint representatives has made it impossible for the CEC to carry out its basic functions.
More than 30 members of municipal congregations and a Kosovo Assembly MP have not been able to take office because of the delay. This failure has increased the public perception that even one of Kosovo's most efficient and non-party institutions is subject to political intervention”, said in response.
The US Embassy urges President Hashim Thaci, who immediately appoints representatives to the CEC for the response, to return this institution's ability to work faithfully and independently for the benefit of the people of Kosovo.
