The armed man fired a gun on the town tram somewhere around 10:45 per witness. Police have said dozens of injured have remained as a result of the attack.
The city's police at Utrecht originally wrote in Titter announcing the event, where it has also announced that its teams have gone to the scene until it has been reported that in aid the wounded have even gone to helicopter units.
A city resident, Jimmy De Koster, has explained the incident for the Dutch De Telegrain, Periscope:
I was standing in traffic and I saw a woman falling down, I think she could be between 20 and 35 years old, he says.
