Ragip Jashar relates the moments when the fighting started to its departure from the siege of Serbian forces.
On the critical night of March 4, 1998, together with a group of friends, we were neighborhood guards. My fate was that I was a guard along with Hamez Jashari, and during that night at about four o'clock, we received news from a fellow fighter who in the village of Trnovc are gathering Serb forces. We didn't get it very tragic, and at six o'clock at the famous table we were drinking coffee and talking”, he said at Rtv Dukajini.
Shaban Jashar's guest says that during that time they had received additional calls to increase Serbian forces, but had not cried too much because they already expected it every day.
“Around 6:05 minutes east we saw Serb forces coming. I told Baca Hamez no longer talk to anyone about the Serbs. We're awake. Baca Shaban was awake wearing a pair of woolly socks, like going to the wedding rather than to the war. We're running and we're preparing as we could and we're out of Oda. There we met the legendary commander with his famous” smile, he said.
Ragip Jashar recalls also what Adam Jashar had said when the Serbian tank had reached the Jashara district.
“Bura came the day to show Serbia how men fight, or how they die for freedom”, Ragip quoted Adem Jashar's words as beginning the fighting.
Ragip also shows the way he managed to save alive from that bloody battle with major Serb forces.
The “will be thankful during the fighting. Hamza has arrived. Because even the ammunition was low, he told us <x1 guys carefully, save yourself because the fighting is hard and low. Fortunately, me, the Union, Qimajli, Shefiki, Bilall saved by the river, even though it's shallow, but it became cause for us to be saved. Halili stood by us while we were withdrawing”, relates Ragip Jashar.
