Researchers from the Development Democracy Organisation (D4D), Gersie Gashi, said the story of Kosovars' migration has had several stages.
There are five stages of migration. The first was 1969. Migrants haven't had the skills and have been workers, we come in 1999, and the last wave is 2014-15, for which we don't have accurate data, but that's about 80 thousand to 100 thousand immigrants,”, he told RTK today.
According to him, over 400,000 people have returned for some years. He said it is difficult to obtain asylum in EU countries.
“It's hard to get asylum, 97% of them denied asylum, there are people left for health causes”, he said.
The document uses three sources of information: (a) existing data, (b) surveys conducted with returns, and (c) focus groups kept with profit/of schemas. The findings are intended to further increase the policy impact on reintegration of returnees, giving recommendations based on research findings. This task is supported by GIF/ DIMAK.
