VVF LDK will not boycott Assembly sessions at this session

The Democratic League of Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement, even though at the autumn session they have boycotted most of the Assembly sessions, at the spring session they have warned participation in the plenary sessions. The head of the LDK parliamentary group, Avdullah Hoti, stresses they will be present at the plenary sessions, but will participate in the vote only in international agreements.

The country's largest opposition party continues to demand that this government go home and hold early parliamentary elections.

We participate in all the Assembly sessions, but our attitude as LDK is clear this Government has no legitimacy to lead further. We will participate only in the vote of international agreements and laws related to the agenda of European integrations, it is in the country's best interest that this Government releases its” route, he said.

Even the Vetevendosje Movement will return to the work of the Parliament, leaving the boycott. So confirms the party's chief of deputies, Glauk Konjufca.

And we're going to participate, we're going to prepare to present our thoughts about the laws and the points that will be brought there by the Government of Kosovo, but also for many laws in which the relevant commissions have worked, and we're going to give our positions and opinions to each point”, He declared it.

Even Social Democrat Party deputy Shqipe Pantina has indicated they will participate in the hearings.

“We will definitely participate and hope that our recommendations will be backed by the Parliament, or MPs”, she said.

While, Memli Krasniqi from the PDK, has called on all parliamentary groups to return to work in the Kosovo Assembly.

According to him, all MPs should participate in sessions to contribute to issues dealing with the interests of the country's citizens.

It's a matter that's up to them to decide, but it would be extremely positive for the Assembly, for representation of citizens' interests, so it's mandates that each of us as deputy has either position or opposition to carry out our obligations and duties. So that we can participate in sessions regardless of attitudes we may have for certain points for pro or counter. I believe the contribution is made by being participants in the session, contributing to debates and participating in the vote. So we don't know, I haven't heard their positions for this session, but we are hoping it will be a different approach from the last session”, he said.

On the other hand, organisations dealing with monitoring the work of the Kosovo Assembly have their remarks on the large number of points in the agenda.

Blerta Aliu from KDI has said this session is also continuing with the old avaz where a session agenda is extremely busy.

As for the participation of opposition parties in the hearings, Aliu says he will have to continue the regular work of the Parliament.

The “is a large number of agenda points that have remained unmet since September of last year, and we have also said our summary statement of the work of the Kosovo Assembly, a year's work that we've monitored that is quite problematic that this issue of diligent sessions is. Since they are not able to make a single session for months. We've called for a better structure of the agenda... Political parties choose their forms to express disappointments and give their political positions in the Assembly, normally to continue the regular work of the Assembly”, she has said.

Meanwhile, analyst Rasim Alija says the Assembly would have to return the real debate on specific topics and not continue as at the previous session on charges between MPs.

The “should have said that this legislature has had serious problems with reaching quorum and proceeding laws away. What we have seen throughout the entire session, which is already over, the autumn session, has been a major annex of the Kosovo Assembly. What we saw next was then a set of laws that have gone away without being thoroughly elaborate about those laws and, as such, question the quality of those laws that have been prosecuted further... What should actually happen would be for the opposition to be a united bloc and as such to present a platform for actual governance in the Kosovo Assembly. A platform for citizens to know on specific issues of what positions opposition parties themselves have, because we see that the quality of the debates in the country at all times also deviates from the topics that are addressed, focuses on the entire issue on charges, and counteracza”, he said.

While on February 2nd, the session will be held where it will be voted for this year's budget.
