The Chairman of the Vushtrri Community, Xhafer Tahiri, has expressed his regret at the attack that took place by eight-year-old stray dogs to the town cemetery on “Kadri Dusi”.
Tahiri in a statement to Periscope has also indicated that they have not yet received any means to treat wandering dogs, even though the Kosovo Self-Food Agency has had to send a municipality report on that purpose for that purpose.
I'm so sorry about this case. Kosovo's Veterina and Food Agency AVUK has taken over the treatment of wandering dogs throughout Kosovo, and 1.5m euros from the Kosovo government have been earmarked for that purpose. We haven't received a report like the Comuna from AVUU and we're worried because the number of stray dogs is growing and the project seems to have had no effect. Like these tools were divided into municipalities, we were probably much more efficient. The municipality is contracting with a company to fight stray dogs, but their numbers are increasing and additional tools are needed from the central level for this purpose”, Tahiri said of Periscope.
According to the contract the municipality of Vushtrri has treated 150 wanderers until last year. The price for a dog is 33 euros. The year 2019 seems to have been delayed. This seems to be the result of delays in the Law on the budget and division of means.
Periscop reported earlier that an eight-year-old, L.I. (known for editing) was attacked yesterday by stray dogs on “Kadri Dusi” in Vushtrri.
The child's family have sent pictures to Periscope's address to indicate the danger of wandering dogs in the town of Vushtrri. The other kids, friends of L.I., have managed to save him. The boy's mother, Luljeta Ismaili, has warned that she will complain in Komuna about problems with stray dogs.
The pictures below show you the injuries of the eight-year-old boy.
