Tens of Serbian citizens, mostly young, among them also former Kosovo Parliament President Rada Trajkovovic, have protested tonight in northern Mitrovica with the slogan “1 out of 5 million”, against political violence, murders, threats and other similar actions.

Marko Jaksic, one of the organisers of this protest, calling those present as the bravest people he has known so far, has indicated that they are gathered tonight in honour of former politician Oliver Ivanovic, and requested the first find of his perpetrators.

According to him, freedom has been lacking in Serbia for six years, and that the entire Serbian state camera has been put in place against this protest, putting pressure on and scaring citizens. He has suggested that if any of the participants in this protest happen to any harm, then the main responsibility would be Marko Djuric.

We are gathered here to honor Oliver Ivanov, who lost his life tragicly. We want to know who the authors and the officers of this murder are. The last five years in Serbia, we have no freedom. If because of a walk, Serbia's entire state camera is here, five days to pressure people, so they can be cooled without any basis, then we've all gone far. I think that each of us has the right to think freely, to express his attitude, and to choose freely what he wants to represent. I want to state something that if anything bad happens to any of us, it's gonna be Marko Djuric. There are no more burned vehicles, threats, humiliation, head-to-head breaking and political murder, because we think otherwise”, said before reporters Jaksic.

Meanwhile, Citizen Initiative Leader “SDP”, Ksenija Bozovic has announced about KosovaPress, that the protest is organised by citizens, mostly young, and the idea is to prove that there are other citizens, even one who thinks otherwise, has different attitudes and ideas.

According to her, politicians have abstained from their participation in this protest, so that the protest does not take political character. The “initiation for organising such a protest has been for citizens, mainly young people. Therefore, we have decided that politicians do not participate in order for the will of citizens not to be given political character”, Priss Bozovic has told Kosovo.

Protesters have walked from “Car Lazarus” to “seat The SDP” where Oliver Ivanov was killed, with a sign of honour lighting candles before the obelisk.

Organisers of this protest for several days have been criticised by the Serbian List and the director of the so-called Kosovo office near Serbia's government, Marko Djuric.

Otherwise, such protests “1 out of 5 million” were held over the past month in several cities of Serbia, with the cases being rejected by current politics in Serbia and President Aleksandar Vuciq.
