Thousands of citizens give up Kosovo citizenship

Kosovo on February 17th, turns 11 years old, which has declared independence. But, the 11th anniversary of its <x0-born” will not celebrate all citizens of the state. Many have decided to give up their citizenship. From its proclamation of independence until now, it is believed that some 400,000 inhabitants have been removed [...]
Since its declaration of independence until now, it is believed that some 400,000 residents have renounced Kosovo's citizenship. This figure is considered high and disturbing for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MPB).
In the MPB, some 5,000 people per year have given up the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo.
Thus far, it can be said that nearly 40 thousand people have given up their citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo, we speak in total, from 2009 to these times”, the response of the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.
According to MPB statistics about 70 percent of these citizens who have renounced Kosovo's citizenship are from Germany.
“As far as the loss of Kosovo's citizenship leads the requirements from Germany. This number is relatively large because these states do not allow two citizenships, then our citizens who have already integrated into these European Union countries choose to maintain the citizenship of these countries”.
Currently only France and Switzerland do not impose freedom from citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo.
In 2018 over 5,000 citizens give up their citizenship.
According to Interior Affairs Ministry data only during the year we have just left behind for release from Kosovo's citizenship, 5578 citizens have submitted, while the release has been accepted to 5464 people.
A total of 5464 persons -- the largest number of those who have lost citizenship in the Republic of Kosovo -- comes from Kosovo citizens living in Germany with 4719 people. While only 237 others have accepted citizenship from other countries”.
The total number of exiles in the diaspora is estimated to be around 700 thousand in EU and US states.
“If we talk number, it can be considered as a concern, but given the circumstances of processes as a state, then a number of about 700 thousand people, or more, in the states of the European Union, don't know how to answer”.
For psychology professor Fady Maloch, flight to various parts of the world is disturbing. But, he says this is all happening because our state is not offering good conditions to citizens.
They are today unable to find a perspective on employment, schooling and other services of state mechanisms, and are forced to choose no way to realise their ambitions. So their removal from improvised citizenship, they are forced to realise, where their work and schooling are respected...”.
The average age of those who have stripped Kosovo's citizenship is new.
Otherwise, the Republic of Kosovo allows two and more citizenship, while Albania is no more than two citizenships.
