Thaci: I need votes, national interest above all.

President Hashim Thaci has said today that he is not interested in votes until he has expressed confidence that Kosovo will win.

He made these comments in <x0men lomen in Energy Scholarsip Program”, where he said Kosovo is fortunate to have a unique support from the US and all its institutions, indiscriminately.

According to him, US support will achieve the goal if Kosovo is at peace with itself and its neighbours, as no investor comes to the region if it is talking about war.

The country's first added, that no new job country is created if commitment is lacking for a free regional co-operation market, and that of fighting corruption and organised crime.

Among other things, he stressed that the US is focused on helping Kosovo reach a comprehensive agreement with Serbia.

Kosovo's “dream is a successful and prosperous state, shared together with American allies, achieved only if we exit the status-show state. I know you don't win a lot of votes when it comes to dialogue, but I don't need votes. National interest is above votes. I have a duty to tell the truth as the mind and soul tell me, just as friends tell us about the good of Kosovo, as I know it is the opinion of the citizens of Kosovo. So I wish that these MCC investments in Kosovo citizens will increase, multiply by working on the realisation of the common goals we have with the US. I am convinced that Kosovo will win, and the Kosovo women who win these scholarships will return to Kosovo with a much better prospect”, he said.
