Thaci has voiced confidence on Facebook that the final agreement between the two countries will be reached this year, in contrast to his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vuciq, who has indicated sceptical that this will happen this year.
This year the region is closing two major issues -- that of the name between Northern Macedonia and Greece, as well as the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia” -- writes Thaci, among other things.

The Munich Security Conference focuses on co-operation in Europe's defence sector and international trade. There is also special attention to the Western Balkans and our efforts to strengthen peace in the region. Discussions with world leaders are inspiring and encouraging. Even in my afternoon speech, I will talk about the necessity of reaching a peaceful comprehensive agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. This year the region is closing two major issues -- that of the name between Northern Macedonia and Greece -- as well as the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. HTH
