And amid tear gas and rubber shocks, a protester is reported to have lost his hand under dire circumstances.
The cause of the injury has not yet been confirmed, but witnesses say he had caught a tear gas grenade that exploded in his hand.
Police said the injured person is being treated at the hospital.
Protesters continue to demand President Emmanuel Macron's resignation, as well as the permission of civic referenda.
The “jerk movement began in November, having essentially increased the tax on fuels and soon turned into a widespread uprising that mobilised tens of thousands of demonstrators against the government.
