Kosovo Parliament members and members of the European Parliament met in Strasbourg for the 6th meeting of Parliamentary Commission for Stabilisation and Association EU-Kosovo (KPSA).
“Takim, co-chaired by Memli Krasniqi and Tonino Picaula, was marked with comprehensive and productive discussions on a series of important issues, including implementation of the EU-Kosovo Stabilisation and Association Agreement, the visa liberalisation process for Kosovo citizens and the importance of continuing dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia”, the Parliament reports.
Also discussed at the meeting were issues involving the social and economic situation in Kosovo, as well as the process of transforming the Kosovo Security Force into the regular army.
“Co-chairmen agreed that progress in the process of normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is necessary so that the parties can reach a binding legal agreement through EU-launched dialogue. In this direction, members had different views of tariffs imposed by Kosovo on products of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, members agreed that continuing dialogue is necessary and that it requires commitment of both sides. As for the visa liberalisation process, repeat members that Kosovo has fulfilled all its obligations and that decisions by relevant EU institutions must be made without delay. Co-chairees welcomed open discussions on all issues in the agenda and voiced their pledges to continue very good relations between the two parliaments”, said further in the statement. /Periscope.
