On the occasion of marking the 30th anniversary of the Trepca miners' strike, Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka shared gratitude to miners who were part of the strike and this year retire.
These gratitude were shared for their contribution to the Trepca mine and for their sacrifice during the February 28th strike in 1989.
Lu Lukaa thanked the miners for their work and sacrifice and announced that the benefits they owe will soon be implemented, the KP broadcasts.
This is a grateful ceremony for your work, for the life you've spent in the Trepca mine, and especially for the sacrifice of the miners strike. I wish you for the adoption of the Trepca statute that made you hisedars in this mine. We are working to make the benefits that belong to you to get into effect as quickly as possible, and we hope that within three months the” procedure will be completed, Luka said.
The head of the Trepca Mines Union, Fatmir Sadiku, said they hope the question of the benefits will be resolved, which would guarantee the miners a better retirement.
Meanwhile, the oldest mine miner Trepca, Ferit Neziri, said minister Luka is the first minister to bring the miners to such a ceremony.
I, as Trepca's oldest miners, would like to thank Minister Luka, who is the only minister who has gathered Trepca miners to such a ceremony”, he said.
Otherwise, miners share a gift for Minister Luka as a sign of thanks for his commitment and work. /Periscopi/
