Russia is estimated to be shut down for a short time from the global internet network.
This could become part of a cyber defence test, writes BBC.
The test aims for the transfer of data between Russian citizens and organisations to take place within the nation, instead of appearing on the international network.
A draft law concerning the technical changes needed to act as independent was introduced to the Russian parliament last year.
The test is expected to take place on April 1st of this year, but a precise date has not been given.
