Members of Bangladesh's Special Forces have killed a man who allegedly attempted to hijack the Burman Bangladesh Airlines airline airline plane from Goka to Dubai, causing the pilot to make a forced landing in Chitagong, officials said.
The kidnapper told the pilot he had personal problems with his wife and that he wanted to speak with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Reuters reports.
“We tried to arrest him or hand him over, but he refused and killed him,” said General Mottur Rahman.
Before entering the special police aircraft, all 142 travelers and most crew members safely left the plane.
The attacker kept only one member of the crew hostage. His identity is still unknown,
