While Japan's Foreign Minister Tosho Abe said that planting this tree would symbolize friendship between the two countries. She said they are planting about 30 Japanese cherry troupes as a sign of honour for Kosovo-Japan relations.

The first of Pristina's municipality, Shpend Ahmeti, has assured Japanese society that they will take good care of Japanese cherry seedlings, until he stressed that he has welcomed the Japanese Government's decision to build this country's embassy in Kosovo.
