Officially start implementation of the name Macedonia North

These measures regulate the implementation of the new Constitutional name, Republic of Northern Macedonia. In line with government decisions, relevant ministries, state bodies and institutions, public enterprises and stock associations within the state, in line with the set deadline for strengthening the amendments would be forced to make the switching of billboards at border crossings, diplomatic and consular representations, as well as at the entrances of the” institutions, stated Mile Bosnjakovski, the government's spokesman.

The changes that will be applied will be in harmony with the Law on the Use of Languages.

“Albanians are 20 percent state-level. In line with the Law on Use of Languages, all changes will be harmonised with the provisions of the law”, said Mile Bosnjakovski, the government's spokesman.

The government will form working groups that will monitor the implementation of the name, Northern Macedonia, in all institutions. The executive body has not yet ascertained how much new name implementation will cost on institutions' boards both at home and abroad.

NATO member states, meanwhile, have begun with ratification of the protocol for Macedonia's NATO membership. Bulgaria is the first country to have adopted the protocol, while on 8 February, Greece's parliament is expected to ratify the same.
