The new penal code envisions in 5 articles, where it protects animal rights, articles 342, 343, 344, 345 and 346.
In these articles, it is pointed out that giving veterinarian aid unconsciously and the illegal exercise of veterinary services is a criminal offence.
Anyone who mistreats the animal or engages in any sexual act with the animal for sexual purposes is fined or sentenced to imprisonment for up to six months.
2. For the purposes of this article:
2.1. “Mistreatment” implies action or inaction with which the animal is caused by suffering, pain, or serious worries, which in the scale and circumstances in which they appear are excessive and unnecessary.
2.2. <x0kkt sexual” implies any small part of the animal's body, any other part of the person or object for sexual purposes.
2.3. “Sexual purpose” implies every action made for a person's sexual pleasure purposes.
3. Whoever organizes, finances or is a host of wars between animals of the same type or different species, either organises or takes part in the bet in these wars, fines or imprisonments until a year”, says Article 346 of the new Penal Code in Kosovo.
In contrast, animal wars, especially dogs, have become a widespread phenomenon in Kosovo.
