Low interest by minority communities to become part of Kosovo Army

The competition of the Ministry of Defence for recruiting young people for service in the KSF has opened on February 11th of this year and is closed on February 22nd.
And in this competition to become part of the Kosovo Army, over 6,000 people have applied, and only 650 will have the opportunity to accept.
The number of non-Albanians interested in becoming part of the Kosovo Army is not too high.
Of all the minority communities in the Republic of Kosovo, there are only 174 applicants who have expressed readiness to serve in the Kosovo Security Force.
This has been confirmed by Defence Ministry spokesman Ibrahim Shala for the news.
He has indicated that the total number of non-most communities that have applied to be part of the KSF is 174, including the Serb minority.
While the screening procedures, filtering and selection that all applicants must follow are thus: Initial examination of apps, skills test, physical test, written and oral interviews, medical test, training, verification, appointment and appeal rights.
It is noteworthy that there are no countries provided for any particular categories in this competition.
Kosovo Assembly deputies on December 14th gave the Green “” to convert the Kosovo Security Force into the Kosovo Army.
With over 100 votes for all political parties except the Serbian List, MPs voted the three bills that changed the KSF's mandate to Kosovo's defence army, but without changing its name to the latter.
