“We as minister are committed to increasing the support for this industry, in research and market recognition, in the design and support of producers for the Certificate of their products with special subsidies schemes through KIESA, in order to increase competition to approach foreign markets to improve trade balance”, Minister Shala has said.
“also the establishment and functioning of the quality infrastructure pillars are important requirements issued by the SAA (auden 80), where Kosovo must take the necessary measures in order to gradually achieve compliance with EU legislation”.
He has added that in this regard, MTI has recently changed the legal framework for the evaluation of reform, standardisation, accreditation and metrology, and at the same time the sectoral legislation for areas that are competent of the MTI, giving focus to its implementation as well as engaging in establishing professional capacity and quality infrastructure services.
According to him, Kosovo has taken a major step forward and with the adoption of the Construction Products Law, which was adopted in November 2018, which will soon be effective, the pillars of quality infrastructure in the construction field will be adjusted.
Finally, Minister Shala has clarified that this law is only part of a wider development process to be passed and that it is likely to take time to complete, yet if properly implemented this law can be an important guide in helping society in this regard
