Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has met with US President Donald Trump.
At their meeting held in Washington, they also discussed the Kosovo issue. Kurz is Austria's first Chancellor, who at the White House met with a president of the United States of America in the last 13 years.
After the meeting, he has said the US in Kosovo “have great influence that they can use positively”.
Kurz stressed that Austria positively sees dialogue between Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq and Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, and that I can support the exchange of territories even though it comes to a complex topic.
If the two sides reach agreement on something, we must not stay on the street, neither the Europeans nor the Americans”, he ordered.
Kurz has announced that Trump asked Austria to increase the budget for the military. I believe that the American administration has an interest in good relations, but in many questions we have different thoughts”, he stressed about meeting with Trump.
