KSF seeks trained personnel to use new equipment

At the time the Kosovo Security Force has received its new military mission and mandate, the Army's one has prepared for the 10-year reform plan for the constitutional transformation of the Republic of Kosovo, the laws in power and NATO criteria, where the KSF claims to join. Force has been reaching since the year [...]
The force is aimed at establishing logistical capacities and military personnel year-on-year, always based on its budget.
As for increasing logistical capacities, such as military equipment and equipment, which the KSF will possess in the future, are required to initially have trained personnel.
The commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Beftman Rama, said in an interview for Online Economy, that although this year it cannot be expected that the Army will be equipped with new tools -- such, according to Rama, will gradually happen.
According to him, it is not problematic to have the KSF logistical equipment, but it is important that trained personnel use those devices.
We've given you a priority that is especially the armoured equipment and the weapons system, but in time we'll let you know because it's too early because we still have the procurement pan. I don't see a shopping problem, but the important thing is that we have trained, developed professional personnel to use those equipment. Our personnel, both soldiers, send officers, officers, be willing to use them. And that's the point, we've given him priority, we've given him a lot in the past, and I feel really good because those basic knowledge and that basis for using the most sophisticated devices we have and we're just growing them together with our partners that we have, and that's the idea”, Rama said.
Rama added that the growth of the Kosovo Security Force would gradually go according to predictions and the plan that has been made.
According to Rama, Kosovo needs five thousand active members and 3 thousand reserves in the KSF. This, according to him, is based on all of the country's factors, such as population numbers, geographic positions and global risks and what the country can afford.
“We have come to the final structure based on all of the country's factors, ranging from the population's number at the same time to geographic positions, but also the risks it may have in the future, the current but also the global risks, but at the same time the risks that we value within our country and on the basis of all these expertise, the tests we've done, we've come to the conclusion that Kosovo needs 5 thousand under the officer and the officer or structure to be 5 thousand active and 3 thousand reserves, Rama told Online Economy.
With the new competition for new recruits at KSF, according to Rama, 650 new soldiers are expected to be added this year, meeting the conditions and completion of nine weeks' training.
But as for the budget owned by the Kosovo Security Force, Commander Rama, states the Government has been asked to raise 5.5m euros more annually.
And depending on the developments we're going to have, depending on the budget we're going to have, because we've been very careful, the goal was that we should not remain a burden on the basis of the actual economic situation that we have in place and we've been looking at the Government for each year to have 5.5 million more per year to increase the 5.5 million budget that each year are involved with the recruits and the equipment but also the training that will take place based on the mandate and the new mission we'll have commanded to have, Rama1m>
Although the Kosovo Security Force, based on NATO standards, is not allowed to have the Army become binding for citizens, the KSF commander says they are drafting a plan to activate the new generations and teach basic military knowledge.
KSF commander adds that these basic knowledge will be set aside for young civilians, because in the future you cannot know what can happen, so according to him, general mobilization is needed.
We're drawing up an idea of how in the future we're going to activate the new generations not that it's mandatory but that in schools, we're going to invite them to the camps to be part of field exercises, the goal is that even the new generations have their basic security knowledge. We don't know what's going to happen tomorrow could be a general mobilization, and of course all citizens should have the basic knowledge of gun use but also see military life developing”, Lieutenant General Rundman Rama said.
Lieutenant General Nundman Rama said this year has also been forwarded to the evacuation of members from KSF. According to him, this has come as an impact of the Law on Early Pension.
According to Rama, this has also been done to enable new generations to become part of the Army and maintain the balance of age, conform to NATO criteria.
There are moves, foca is flexible always moving people, let's get them based on our disciplinary codes that could happen violations that we're strictly d.m. in the sense of discipline. There are even cases that we, based on regulations, have enabled older generations to retire early. The reason was to create space and opportunity for new generations but at the same time keep that balance of middle age because it's a criterion NATO that we have to keep”, Rama said.
Otherwise, the Euro-Atlantic Council in late January has discussed Kosovo's decision to start the transition phase of the Kosovo Security Force in the Army.
This council has given Kosovo 120 days of deadlines to begin the changes so that after these months comments from NATO member states on KSF and the Ministry of Defence can be given. While, by March 5th, the country's prime minister is expected to approve the KSF structure
