Kosovo pensions growing, exact value published

All pensioners in Kosovo from today have received increased pensions. This, following the adoption of the Kosovo government's decision to raise them from 15 to 20%.

The decision to raise pensions has been made for the five pension categories -- basic, contributing -- family pensions, disability at work, and Trepca pensioners.

Finance Minister Lulzim Rafuna's adviser, in a proposal for Indexline, has indicated how much pensions for all categories will now be.

The elderly of 75 euros would now receive a 90-euro pension. While beneficiaries from Trepca's pensions will receive 25 euros more, up from 105 euros previously, they will now receive 130 euros.

“For basic pensions roughly have received 75 euros, while now with 20% growth they will receive 90 euros, while in terms of Trepca pensions so far they have received 105 euros, now approximately 130 euros will get. The contributing pensions are four categories within this sector, depending on the level of schooling, and you increase by 15%, depending on the level of schooling, and on which category they fall. While family pensions and these disabilities have also received from 75 euros and will receive about 90 euros with an increase of 20%”, Rafuna said.

He has further revealed that there are about 179 thousand pensioners in Kosovo. According to him, Kosovo's budget will cost 30m euros.

The execution of increased pensions, Labour and Social Management Minister Skender Recica, has made it known through a Facebook status. He promised that they would continue to raise pensions for other categories as well.

“Today we processed pensions for a 20% increase, for basic pension categories, family pension, disability labour pension and early Trepca pensions, as well as pensions with increased 15% contributions, including the month's reform payment. As minister of MPMS, I remain committed to continuing, within budgetary opportunities to continue with pension increases, as well as for other categories of social and pension scheme beneficiaries”, Recica wrote.
