This scenario is considered possible after the news that Leyla Ibrahim-Salah, a Swiss citizen of Kosovo background, has taken over Germana Flug, Swiss aviation branch Germany. The purchase was made through her investment company, Albex Aviation.
Germany Flug was not influenced by Berlin-based Germany's bankruptcy this month and continues to operate flights mainly from its base in Zurich to the European-era resorts of the Middle East and North Africa.
Swiss company, has long ties with Ibrahim- Salahin after operating flights on behalf of Air Pristina, a virtual Kosovo airline she runs as chairman and chief executive. Although there are no assets of its aviation, Air Pristina functions as an air hotel for ethnic traffic from Switzerland, Germany and Italy to Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania.
Its business model echoes that of the Kosovo Flight Agency, which stopped flying in 2006 but continues to sell airline tickets through partnerships with foreign carriers.
