Senator Kamala Harris [Democrat from California] and once the candidate most likely to win the nomination to face Donald J. Trump in 2020, he said he supported derimination of sexual affairs, saying that “can't criminalise consensus behavior so that nobody gets hurt by it.”, translated by The Hill, Periscope.
In an interview with The Root, Harris was asked if the sex work “should be decritated,” although the interviewer had not specified to what level.
“Yes, I should,” was answered by Harris. I think we should understand, however, that it's not that simple... there's an ecosystem around it, which involves crimes that hurt other people. And for those reasons, I don't believe that anyone who hurts another human being or benefits from its explosion should... be free from persecution for that crime. ”
He added further: “but if you talk about adults who want to do it, then yes, we should consider that we cannot criminalise consensus behavior as long as no one gets hurt by it,” she added.
