Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has said Turkey has spent more than 37 billion dollars on its national resources to care for refugees, but will not be able to address the problem alone.
According to foreign media, Telegrafi conveys, speaking at the 6th Ministerial Conference under the Budapest Process in Istanbul, Erdogan said that building high walls with razor wire is not a solution to preventing illegal migration.
He noted that there are some 260 million immigrants worldwide, over 68 million displaced persons and more than 25 million refugees.
“Over the course of eight years, we've accepted about four million people, while some countries that have greater economic opportunities, “are filled with each other” in order not to accept 100-150 refugees”, Erdogan said.
He said European politicians, particularly racist parties, are trying to come to power by showing hostility towards refugees. /Telegraphy/
