He in his address to the UN Security Council has stated that the establishment of this tax is “irrational, while Serbia has refrained from unilateral acts due to the non-founding of Serbian association and Kosovo's decision about the Trepca statute”.
The tax decision is politically motivated and has hampered continued dialogue. Serbia believes dialogue is the only way to resolve unresolved questions”, Dacic has said.
Speaking of reviewing the UNMIK mission in Kosovo, the chief of Serbian diplomacy said the staff of this mission has recently been reduced along with its budget, calling on UN countries not to rush back to review the decision on this mission in Kosovo.
He has already recalled that Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has charged U n NMIC is writing invented reports, accusing the EU of choking and drowning the dialogue process.
Dacic reiterated that Serbia is for the continuation of dialogue, but according to him this will happen only when Pristina removes the tax. “It is time for a lasting peace between Serbs and Albanians”, he said.
He has said he supports the Special Court's charges and expects the charges to become official as soon as possible.
The chief of Serbian diplomacy said Serbia has paid $750m and will pay more than $200m on behalf of the debt they had received for Trepca.
“We are committed to dialogue, but we will do this after the decision Pristina will make to remove the tax. We welcome all the state that's asked for the tax removal, but we demand that further pressure be made on the tax waivers. We will not continue the dialogue without tax removal. We are determined to resolve the issue through dialogue, follow the course of peace and ask that the other side refrain from provocations”.
