Concern: Over 30 cases of sexual violence within the year in Kosovo

In 2018, 31 cases of sexual violence were reported throughout Kosovo.

Based on statistics Kosovo Police have told them that six cases of attempted rape were reported during the year we left behind.

According to the Kosovo Police, 46 women have been victims of sexual assault.

Severe punishments are also set forth for such criminal acts.

According to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, all leaders of these works will face prison sentences.

According to Article 230 “Dunime”, of the Kosovo Criminal Code, anyone who forces a person to commit sexual acts without his consent is sentenced to imprisonment of two to 10 years, the news reports.

And for those who commit sexual assault, legal sanctions are envisioned.

Based on Article 232 “The sexual assault of Kosovo's Penal Code is said to be that anyone who deliberately touches the other person or urges the person to touch the chief or other person for sexual purposes without the consent of such a person is sentenced to fine or imprisonment until a year.
