According to the operating program, neurosurgeons have conducted surgical interventions in brain patients diagnosed with aneurysms of blood vessels.
The extensive aneurysm, or artery, is usually a birth defect, which may be present for a longer time in the patient, though there may be no symptoms. It is discovered only when it explodes and causes bleeding in the brain.
Professor Dr. Arsim Morina said patients are in good condition, and treatment is continuing in the Neurozurgia ward normally, without the need for intensive care.
“into an operational programme has been conducted both aneurysms, one with a broad basis of the communican's front artery and the other in the quartery media artery, as well as broad-based. Patients did not need to go into intensive care, but have returned to the department, have woke up and without any neurological deficit”, he said.
Such operations, according to doctors, are the most complex and performed only in the most advanced centers.
The most sophisticated operations I perform with the team and are not common in any neurosurgeon center to operate two aneurysms over a day. So much more when we operate with just one operating room. In addition to saving life and quality of life, material tools in Kosovo's budget have been spared, where all three operations would cost at least 100 thousand euros”, Morina said.
Neurosurgeon Fatos Kelmendi says only one of them can't be performed as early as 6 hours ago.
This is a success for our university center. These are the most difficult operations in Neurozurgy, and I can say they are the most complicated operations in Neurodrogyia, where the mortality of these patients can amount to 50%”, he said.
Hajrie Biba, one of the patients in surgery, relates the critical moment until after surgery, she says she feels good.
Before the operation, I'm a disaster. After surgery, I'm like dogs, you heard the elders say, in seven words of the king. They've been watching us a lot, even in Germany and America, the best doctors aren't there. I said I would die, I was lying, I woke up in the morning to light the fire, I fell down, and I didn't have anything to do with it, said she.
