Mustafa has announced that after consultations with party structures that the PDK branch in Gjilan and citizens of the municipality made the decision to run. He added that he is preparing a new alternative for citizens of this municipality.
Meanwhile, during yesterday's day, the Court of Appeals ruled that the trial against Mustaf and 38 other indictees should continue.
Despite the defence requirements, Appeals decided that the first-degree court would proceed further with criminal proceedings and then make a fair and legal decision. Kosovo's Special Prosecutor has charged Mustafa and 38 other indictees with organised criminal acts, misuse of official position and misuse of authorisation in the economy. And according to Mustafa, this decision is political and deignive.

Honored friends, activists and sympathies of the PDK branch in Gjilan and citizens of the Gjilan municipality,
We believe, you are reported that in a few days the election process will begin within the PDK branch in Gjilan.
Through this public presentation I would like to announce that after consultations with party structures at the branch and centre, with citizens of our municipality and after assessing the current requirements of the PDK branch in Gjilan and municipality society in general, I have decided to express my claim to the branch leadership for the next four-year term.
Despite personal and collective challenges from the past, and especially from what awaits us, I consider that the will of citizens and membership is the foundation of motivation for me and for each of us to take responsibility even in time and hard times for our society.
I sincerely invite you all, regardless of political affiliations to date, to express your will and participate in our electoral process, which will be open and fully democratic. The New Decade will be started and built together, with reform, pro-creative and developmental thinking!
This commitment of mine at this moment, full of generosity, I fully dedicate to the citizenship of our municipality and the society of Kosovo indiscriminately.
The victory of the citizens of Gjilan is no alternative!
Yours forever,
Kemal Mustafa
