Minister Cakaj praised Moghrin's special contribution to promoting Albania's progress towards membership in the European Union, especially the important role in supporting our region's European perspective.
Cakaj reaffirmed the Albanian government's commitment to continue with the pace of reforms in order to further consolidate sustainable results in the European agenda that will enable the opening of membership talks with the EU.
He praised that the decision to start negotiations would give a new impulse not only to our country, but would encourage a more positive dynamic in the region.
The EU High Representative praised the achievements so far in the five priorities set by the European Union, especially in the field of justice.
Moghrin showed interest in the recent situation in Albania and stressed the need for political maturity and national accountability in this key period of the integration process.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Cakaj and High Representative Moghrin agreed to intensify interoperation and co-operation over the remaining months in the post of achieving Albania's priority goal of opening membership talks.
