German Chancellor Angela Merkel has decided to leave Facebook on her leave.
Through a video published on her website, Merkel announced the departure from Facebook where she has more than 2.5 million followers.
Merkel thanked the users for their support, reminding them that her work as Chancellor can continue to follow.
“Today is the day I want to thank you for the powerful support on my Facebook page”, Merkel said in the video.
You know I'm no longer the head of the CDU, and that's why I'm going to close the Facebook” page, Merkel says.
