A 47-year-old Albanian was arrested by Greek police following the death of a 91-year-old man who was found dead in his apartment in Piraeus in 2013.
It took several years of investigation to discover that the alleged author of the murder of the elderly is Albanian.
Police arrived on the author's trail after finding fingerprints on the steps of the building.
The Albanian has been charged in the past with robbery and several other criminal acts.
Following the investigation, the 47-year-old Albanian was identified in the early hours of last Friday morning in Piraeus, where he was arrested.
Murder
On September 20, 2013, the 91-year-old was found dead in a housing block in Piraeus, which he rented. As a result of the police investigation, the author of the incident had entered the building in order to rob. After discovering that on the ground floor where the man lived, there was no money, the Albanian shot the elderly man in the face. According to forensic examination, the 91-year-old death came due to severe head and neck injuries. /Periscopi
