AAKA MP: We've never had a formal request from America for tax removal.

AAK MP Shumbin Demalijaj has reiterated what his party leader Ramush Haradinaj, who the tax will not be lifted until Serbia recognises the independence of the Republic of Kosovo. “The AAK in relation to the tax will change when Serbia recognizes us, and when [...]

“The AAK in relation to the tax will change at the moment when Serbia recognizes us, and the moment that last disappeared during the last war returns to Kosovo. The tax is not a condition. The tax is not lifted”, Demalijaj has indicated.

Asked about Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer's letter requesting tax removal, Demaliyaj has raised suspicions that that letter was really sent by the US.

He says that that letter was originally not signed, and that nothing from America has officially come to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to him, that letter was published by one of the public televisions in Kosovo.

That letter wasn't signed. I think that letter came out of public television, or a media in Kosovo”, it added to T7.

Demaliyaj says the moment they accept an official request from the United States for the removal of the tax will lower the coalition and seriously review that requirement.

AAK MP has already said whether The PDK does not want to stay in the coalition with the AAK because of the tax, the tax should go out and say it openly, adding that they go to elections without fear.

If they see that they can't be partners, then we can go for elections. The elections are very legitimate. The alliance never scared the elections. They just come out and show they're part of the coalition, and then there's choices and” solutions, he adds.

Apart from the Demalijaj elections, it has said there is also the possibility of a sweeping government, but, according to him, this is not being accepted by the opposition, as they do not want to join the PDK.
