During the past year alone, 53 citizens have sought help in the Family Medicine Centers as a result of dog attacks in the capital.

According to statistics from the Centre for Family Medicine, there were 11 cases, while “Vechani” 10 in the Centre that appears in the sector.

Residents say that usually morning and evening, facing great danger from wandering dogs, reports “038” KTV.

Their numbers on the streets and neighborhoods of the capital are huge. Institutions have no accurate statistics on their number.

The municipality has signed contracts worth 100,000 euros with the Animal Treatment Centre for dog treatment this year.

Her teams make capture, sterilization, and vaccination of dogs against rage. But in the absence of a permanent shelter center, dogs are released after 72 hours at their capture.

The increase in their numbers, according to municipal officials, affects migration and the release of domestic dogs from citizens.

And the Center for Animal Treatment says that it is permitted for dogs who are aggressive and terminally ill to eliminate them through permanent sleep.

Florim Ferati, manager of this centre, has called on citizens to adopt these dogs because he says it helps greatly reduce their numbers in the streets.

This centre, in one year, treats about 1,000 and 300 stray dogs in the Pristina municipality.
