In the past year alone, 5,000 citizens gave up Kosovo citizenship.
The reason for this phenomenon is said to be a delay in visa liberalisation, which would ensure Kosovo citizens free movement in the Schengen area.
And requirements for leaving Kosovo's citizenship are not stopping either year.
In a response to news.net from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it has become known that 378 requests for release from Kosovo citizenship have been filed during January alone.
And according to MPB statistics, during the same period this year, no citizen applied for gaining Kosovo citizenship.
The most frequent requests for leaving Kosovo citizenship come from persons who are already living and integrated into the German state.
The reasons for this phenomenon relate to that this Germany does not know the dual citizenship of their citizens.
Meanwhile, France and Switzerland do not force freedom from citizenship.
Largely demand for Kosovo's citizenship has been deposited on younger persons.
We stress that the Republic of Kosovo allows its citizens to maintain two and more citizenship, while Albania's that number has limited it to two.
