Veliaj tells of the post-dramatic school situation

The vast majority of Tirana schools have suffered no injuries and are ready to open. Tirana Mayor Erion vellaj, speaking at today's meeting of the Municipal Council, where the second list of rent bonus beneficiaries for families damaged by the earthquake was approved, stressed that more [...]
He made it known that all school directors will take over the act-contact of the Construction Institute, which has certified their safety. He assured that for schools that have problems and need intervention, the transfer of students to the nearest school will be made.
“We have been opening three days of Tirana's nests and gardens, everything has turned into fjolla. Directors of daycare and gardening have also managed the psychological situation, but the process of restarting in gardens and shelters with great tranquillity and panic. So I'd like to ask the school principals the same thing. We're going to have a meeting Sunday with all the school directors, so they're going to know exactly on Monday all the schools that are going to open with a consent act. All schools that will be closed or damaged, such as school in Peza, are very small schools, in Zalbastar, or in very remote peripheral areas where it will certainly become an accommodation at the nearest school or very few schools in the capital where we will have to work for repairs perhaps another 10 days and open it for a new year. So in 10 days very few schools can be moved. But 90 percent of schools have no problems and will continue normally”, Veliaj said.
He also said that all schools that have been inspected in the most detailed way by certain groups of specialists and engineers in order to get a more thorough and specialized opinion.
We'll let Luljeta Bozon and Agron Hysnelliu do engineering, we'll make the mayor, the school principal do the school principal, but not all of them. So I ask the school directors very kindly, I'm not the engineer, it's them, they're going to take the construction institute action. If we have seen the peak of a palace three times - with municipal, construction, and foreign experts - we have seen schools with four sides. It's just that we have school safety high priority. New schools we haven't had any problems, the old, not new schools have had problems. And in some rural schools we have made a drastic decision on total debacle”, Veliaj said. /Top Channel/
