The Philippine authorities now urged thousands living in the center of the Philippines to flee their homes because of tropical storms that are expected to strike the country.
“called '%Fanfone', the storm will strike Samar Island in the central part of the” Archipelagus, according to the philpinian meteorological services.
The city of Borongon, located on the eastern coast of Samar Island, will be the most affected.
“storm Fanfone” will follow the same trajectory as the typhoon “Hayaan”, the most devastating registered in the country, which caused more than 7 300 deaths and disappearances since 2013, particularly hitting the city of Tacloban.
Authorities urged residents living in coastal regions, areas that could be flooded or vulnerable to landslides to flee their homes.
