With the release of Soleiman, Foreign Minister Zarif stated that Chinese-born American citizen Xiue Wang, who was arrested in Iran on spying charges in 2016, would return to his home in a short time.
Iranian top diplomat, among other things, has expressed thanks to the Swiss government for mediating the exchange.
American citizen of Chinese origin Xiue Wang, a doctoral student at Princeton University, was arrested in 2016 for spying in Iran, where he was doing research on his schooling.
And prof. Massoud Solejmani of the University of Tarbbit Modares University in Tehran was arrested in October last year at Chicago Airport during his US entry on the claim of violations of sanctions.
