The meeting between the elected deputy of the Vetevendosje Movement, Xhelal Svechla, and the director of the so-called Office for Kosovo in Serbia's government, Marko Djurovic, has been met with sharp criticism, both from politicians and from political issues' recognition in the country.
Both were part of an international conference, with all political subjects in the region, which was held on the subject “Regional Co-operation” under the organisation CIG in Tirana.
Part of this conference were LDK official Arba Abashi and AAK member Ardian Djindhi.
However, the picture, which was published in the media, has shown Svecla, Abrashi's Dji, seated another table from that of the conference, which sparked the impression of a friendly meeting.
But in opinion, the one who was most crucified for meeting Marko Djurovic was Jedal Svechla of the Vetevendosje Movement, due to the positions of this now-known party.
The Vetevendosje movement as long as it was in the opposition has consistently rejected the participation of the Kosovo side in tables where Serb representatives participated. LVV activists even laid down official Kosovo Government eggs, following public meetings with representatives of the Serbian state, as had happened to former Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Petrit Selimi.
While LVV had admitted to standing behind that act, in the communiqué issued on October 14, 2015, Vetevendosje had declared that “Pert Selimi is known for his friendship with Ivica Dacic, the person Kosovo called I SIS. Petrit Selimi and his bosses never reacted to this statement by their friend Daciq”.
But the guest meeting between Svecela and Djuriqi came three days after the latter called the biggest massacre that took place in Kosovo by Slobodan Milosevqi's regime, Recak's.
For this, renowned analyst Arben Ahmeti has stated that Jelal Svecla's meeting with Marko Djurici is a pity.
Ahmeti even says Steve's meeting with Djuric has tragic dimensions, when we remember activists who supported Svecla in dozens of shares in rejecting Kosovo government officials' meetings with those Serbs.
Sorry. A few days after denying Recak we see Djuric at a dinner table with a political activist who has made thousands of shares against such meetings. This is the dimension that that that picture and dinner made it absurd and ironic. There is also a tragic dimension when you think of the sacrifice of activists who have attended Svecla in action and protests against such meetings”, analyst Ahmeti has declared in a conversation with Periscope.
Since announcing the results of the October 6th elections, where Vetevendosje came up with the winning party, we have seen easing the positions of this party on issues that have been vocally opposed and between various shares.
Asked whether LVV's contradictory actions will undermine citizens' confidence in the government, which is expected to be led by Albin Kurti, Ahmeti believes that these VV movements will not shake citizens' trust in this party, since according to him, citizens already have no idea who to believe.
I won't easily lose faith in the VV because there won't be anyone to win it. Misuse in nepotism and corruption by other parties has led citizens to believe the VV. As long as these parties are like this, the VV will be the hope for citizens”, Ahmeti said.
Low and heavy meeting between Svecla and Djuriqi is considered by other analyst Shkodran Ramadani. He told Periscop that meeting looked like a date with friends.
“The Svechla-Huriq meeting is very low and very serious for two main reasons: because the security footage does not indicate that the meeting was official at a conference, so it was not a conference, but it has been a friendly free date like between two friends and no reasoning can be found. So Svechla could have refused even if the host had appointed him. This meeting was held two or three days after Marko Djuric was ridiculed by Recak's victims, denying the biggest massacre that took place during the war”, Ramadani said.
According to him, such actions may gradually weaken citizens' confidence in Albin Kurti's party, even though it is still too early to talk about it. The issue is Ramadani says how long citizens' trust for Vetevendosje will last.
“Citizens do not lose faith immediately, but as such actions, they do influence the decline and prestige of civic legitimacy. It's still too early to say that you lose civil confidence. But power gives you a lot of wrong opportunities, but the question is how long will this trust last? Ramadani said. /Periscopi/
