Kosovo's “Police have arrested 15 431 suspects over the past year, and, of this number, 4231 suspects have been sent to the hold-by-law by competent prosecutors. In the first nine months of this year, however, 9 236 suspects have been arrested, and 3 105 suspects have been sent to the detention of competent prosecutors. From this number of detainees, there have been detainees who have ended up in handcuffs after collaboration with citizens.
Police on several occasions (after obtaining authorization from justice bodies) have addressed citizens with a request for assistance in providing information and tracking various suspects who have been on the run and questioned about involvement in criminal activities. Police have accepted important information about what has been consistently thanked for citizens' co-operation”, said their response.
From the Information Office at the PC say the Community Policy Strategy provides for police to be closer to citizens who have frequent meetings with them.
