Security Science Professor Avni Islami has said that compared to other countries and in relation to the number of populations Kosovo continues to have an extremely high number of murders.
The number of murders in Kosovo has continued to be alarming even during 2019. Like past years, Kosovo has faced a disturbing figure of these acts this year. According to Kosovo Police data given to the paper, a total of 19 murders have been recorded between the beginning of 2019 and November.
This figure is added to the last murder that took place during December in the village of Surqina in Ferizaj municipality, where 32-year-old Shkodran Bytyqi was killed, bringing the death to 20 to 20 for 2019.
However, the number of murders for 2019 has seen a decline compared to the previous year. Although compared with last year, where 32 murders had occurred, this number has been markedly reduced, their level continues to be considered disturbing, according to security experts in Kosovo.
