MlT ready to maintain roads for winter season

This ministry's spokeswoman, Nissitje Konjuhi, said that even though the contracting of companies has been done since November 15th, it has so far been interviewed only on the road leading to the Sharr Mountains.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has carried out all road maintenance preparations for winter season, the ministry's spokeswoman, Kojunhi, told Radio Kosovo. According to her, contracting companies to maintain snow roads has taken place since November 15th. While the cost of these contracts amounts to about 6m euros.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport finds it ready as always. There are 7 regions with 2 companies covered as well as three other companies that will only take care of highways. This year's innovation is the maintenance of the “Arba Xhaferi” Highway.

However, according to spokeswoman Konjuhi, because of relatively warm weather, road maintenance companies have conducted only one intervention so far.

“The companies are ready since November 15th to maintain roads for winter season, and this maintenance will continue under conditions until May 31st.

Actually, it had only to intervene in the Ferizaj region, in the direction of the Sharr Mountains, where they have also faced snowfall of<x0.
The winter season in Kosovo, under law in effect, begins on November 15th and ends on March 15th, according to the annual calendar.
