In fact, such an initiative was proposed in 2010 under the third Balkan mini-sam, held in Prizren's Prevale ʹ meeting that was called by then Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu.

Leaders of four countries in the region -- Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu, Albania's Bamir Topi, Montenegro's Filip Vujanovic and Macedonia's Gjorge Ivanov -- had expressed their readiness to create a Balkan Mini-Sengeni.

After the June 26th 2010 meeting, the four presidents had pledged co-operation and good cross-side reports, writes Klan Kosova.

The summit's member, Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu, had said the empty theme was freedom of movement of citizens and goods in this part of Europe, reviewing his request for a Balkan Mini-Shengen.

And we can say today that we are close to the practical realisation of what we have said earlier, of a Balkan Mini-Sengeni, or of Southeast Europe to demonstrate our maturity even for integration processes for broader”, he had declared.
