After the 6.3-magnitude quake that hit the country, there were several posthumously, some of them up to 5.4 Richters. The number of victims is 51, over 700 others injured. Many citizens have lost their homes, and hundreds of others do not return home because they are afraid of feeling still powerful trails.

Exit.al spoke to Dr. Stephen Hicks, researcher at London College Engineering School Dr. Wendy Bohon, geologyist at the Institute for Seismology and Remy Bossu, secretary-general of the European Seismology Centre-, Medieval and Co-creative App Last Quake.

After the November 26th earthquake, what are the odds that an earthquake of the same magnitudes occurred in the days and weeks ahead?

Stephen: After an earthquake, we expect a lot of earthquakes -- we call them chaos. The rule is that after the earthquake, the greatest passion is a unit less than the magnitude of the main earthquake -- which is known as the “Bath Law” -- so the earthquake was a magnitude 6.4. Richter and passage are expected to be 5.4 Richter.

In fact, there was 5.4 magnitude in the country. Richter. However, not all setbacks follow the pace and can occur even stronger trails - although this scenario is less likely to happen.

The number of insurrections can be reduced by the law of Omor. The frequency of insurrection will be reduced by the time which will be the possibility of insurrection on the first day, the second day will have a 50 percent less likely to happen on the first day, and the tenth day will have 10 percent less than the first day.

Wendy: The odds that another earthquake of the same magnitude is low. However, the trail will continue. Posts are earthquakes that occur after the major blow or major earthquake, and they can cause damage in particular to damaged objects.

Remy: In most cases, there is no second or first earthquake. Each earthquake generates instability and they will continue for days and weeks, but the number of insurrections in Tirana has begun to decline. A big blow is very unlikely to happen but can never be expelled, but it may take months after the shocks return to their normal level.

This is one of the strongest earthquakes that has hit the area for many years. Why is that? Can we say that such an earthquake will not be repeated for many years?

StephenUnfortunately, we cannot predict the time and place of earthquakes. In general, earthquakes are caused by the sudden release of accumulated energy, which causes seismic waves to be created (symic drives), causing earth's quakes. Some earthquake sequences can occur in the short term (day, month, or years), while others may occur with a 100 - year span. Without a detailed map of their plates and movement, we cannot predict.

Wendy: Earthquakes often strike this area. This is the ninth quake, measuring 6 on the Richter scale since 1905. This is due to the tectonic oppression of the earth's crust extending from south Croatia to Greece. When the earth's crust is crushed, it produces cracks and folds, causing earthquakes.

Remy: There have been powerful earthquakes in Albania before. For example, in 1979, Albania was hit by an earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale. So this activity is normal for the region. Unfortunately, there's a periodicity in the events of the earthquakes, a little more than seismic steps over time. So neither we nor anyone else can predict when an earthquake will occur.

Why is Albania being hit by several earthquakes recently?

Stephen:Earthquakes in Albania and generally in the Eastern Adriatic region occur because of the rapid deformation of the tectonic plaque, in particular, the collision in the north of Africa's plaque in connection with the Eurasian tectonic tablet.

This clash relates to the gradual closure of the Adriatic Sea, resulting in errors in setting up tiles along the Adriatic coast. One such mistake likely caused the November 26 earthquake.

There is no significant statistical probability of changing seismic activity over time. Of course, earthquakes are unpredictable, and we don't always have the historical catalogue of earthquakes, the measuring instruments date back to 1970, so we're not always able to compare seismic activity over time for the region.

Remy: There are pastries that are normal after the 6. In this case many of the afternoons are close to the inhabited areas, making even the little magnitudes feel. This is a very difficult situation to deal with psychologically. This challenge should be fully known: all these post-probations have a psychological cost to citizens.

What measures must the government take to prepare for these future events?

Stephen: Strong earthquakes are rare for various countries, but they may have high impacts causing death, injury, and serious financial damage to the resonance.

So it's important to invest in research regarding local seismology before the earthquake occurred to identify the types of buildings, mistakes that could cause rifts with a given magnitude.

Also, we often say the phrase: “Earthquakes don't kill people. Buildings are currently”, so it is important to have a regulatory code of buildings and improve old buildings by adapting them to new systems in order to cope with the shocks.

Wendy: The best thing the government can do is strengthen the legal system of buildings so they don't collapse during earthquakes.

Remy: Not only must the government be prepared but citizens themselves. The government must strengthen construction legislation, preparation and response, etc.

But citizens must also prepare: make sure they have no heavy objects on comedy, have a plan for evacuation, learn how to react and what should be done in case of a strong earthquake.

It is important to note that the National Institute of Seismology in Albania has done a fantastic job despite difficult conditions. We trust their work to provide quick information to update the application Last Quake.

What should citizens do in case of an earthquake?

Stephen: Depends on the type of building. In countries like the United States, you are recommended to sit down, protect yourself, and hold onto a table or a door frame because many people are damaged by the fall of walls. But if the building is vulnerable to damage and is likely to be destroyed, it is best to stay out and away from falling objects.

I would recommend that people in these areas be prepared to have spare flashlights, a first aid kit, and a food supply in case of high power. People should be attentive to advice from earthquake monitoring organisations. Some charlatans on the Internet often spread rumors about earthquake forecasts that quickly disperse. That's wrong-the-terms don't get predicted. It is good to be constantly prepared in the future.

Wendy: If you're inside when you feel the quake quakes, sit down and put down the solid object as a table. As soon as they're out of shock and the move is secure, get out of the building. Hurry but carefully away from anything that might fall like buildings, power lines, or tree branches.

Remy: It is generally recommended that you stay inside, protect yourself during the quake (down a strong table), and then go outside. Why? Because if you're trying to get out during an earthquake, many objects from the roof or balcony can hit you and the possibility of being damaged by these objects is higher than the collapse of the building. That's why it's dangerous.

Moreover, if you hear someone say that they have predicted the current earthquake or in the future, ignore it because it is untrue and simply provoke panic. The best way to deal with panic is to know what to do when an earthquake strikes, to be ready, and to be informed.
