The Kosovo Judiciary Council strongly condemns the physical attack on the presiding judge of the Constitutional Court in Mitrovica, the branch in Vushtrri, Rifat Blace.
The Council through a response has expressed concern over the violence exercised against the presiding judge, Blata, associated with his official work.
Such acts of threats to judges are unacceptable and that the same are taken very seriously. These attacks present not only intervention in the fundamental principle of independence of the judicial system but also legal violations. Therefore, such attacks on the judicial system and the KDP present serious concern. The council stands firm with judges, supports them in their independent work, and encourages them to fulfill their constitutional and legal mission and invites competent bodies to take all relevant actions around the case, and once vows to live the mission of judicial institutions to ensure order and law in the Republic of Kosovo”, it is said in response.
