Italy is overwhelmed by cold in Milan

Friday brought a severe storm in some parts of the neighboring country. Atmospheric conditions forced the closure of schools in Rome and Naples. Overnamed “Santa Lucia”, under the name of the saint who is remembered on December 13th, is expected to cause problems throughout the next hours. Amid strong winds and heavy rainfall over the southwestern regions, citizens have been advised to take care.
Traffic has been heavy during the day in the capital, where roads were filled with water. Mayor Virginia Raggi has called on her to avoid travel as much as possible. In Milan, who woke up this snow - white morning, authorities have asked residents to leave their cars at home and throw salt on the street in front of their homes.
In some other cities, there has been snowfall, but it has been easier, while the amount has been greater in the Alps, including Lake Cosmo. Snow hair was reported as far as Toscana, where areas hit early in the week by an earthquake, were faced with frozen rain.
The Italian Civil Protection Department warned of strong winds in Italy's southern and central areas, where the most hit will appear to be Calabria and Puglia. Atmospheric conditions are expected to ease on Sunday.
