On Thursday, the prime minister will face his rival, Gideon Saar, in a vote to elect Likud's new party leadership.
On September 10th, the leader of Likud party, Benjamin Netanyu, was also evacuated from an election rally in the southern town of Ashdod, as alarm signals warned of a Gaza attack.
“Aeroplanes and helicopters hit several Hamas' terrorist targets at the Gaza Strip”, the Israeli Army said in a statement.

Last week, two missile attacks were launched against Israel from Gaza without causing damage, Israel's military said.
In response, Israeli warplanes twice bombed Hamas' targets in Gaza.
Israel holds the Islamic movement responsible for all missile attacks coming from Gaza, though the Jewish state also targets other armed groups operating there.
Since 2008, Israel has fought three wars against Hamas and his armed allies in Gaza, where two million Palestinians live amid violence, poverty and a 10-year Israeli blockade.
The last major conflict, in 2014, has lasted 50 days and has ended with 2,000 Palestinians killed, including hundreds of civilians, and another 73 Israeli killed.
